AN IOWA-LED MOVEMENT

Our shared purpose

Iowans are facing one of the highest cancer rates in the country, and we are one of the only states where cancer rates are increasing. This crisis affects every community, every family, and every demographic in our state: children, grandparents, rural, urban.

But one thing has always defined Iowa: when challenges arise, we don’t wait for someone else to solve them. We come together and take action. That’s why everyday Iowans are coming together through the Protect Water Prevent Cancer campaign.

The science is clear that toxins and pollutants in our environment, including our waterways, are contributing to this crisis. The solutions to address it have to come from all of us, too.

The organizations and thousands of people already involved in the Protect Water Prevent Cancer campaign may have differences. What unites us is a common goal and a demand that our elected leaders prioritize our health over special interests.

Together, we can protect the water that sustains our communities, reduce exposure to harmful pollutants, and create a healthier Iowa for future generations.
