Iowa’s cancer crisis demands action.

Iowa has one of the highest cancer rates in the country — and Iowans want change. Protect Water Prevent Cancer is an Iowa-led campaign connecting clean water, environmental risk factors, and cancer prevention. Families, farmers, rural, and urban Iowans are demanding action.

This is an Iowa-led movement.

This campaign is built on the voices of thousands of Iowans and a groundbreaking report about the environmental risk factors associated with Iowa’s high cancer rates.
"Environmental Risk Factors and Iowa’s Cancer Crisis” is a first-of-its-kind report and in-depth literature review of top scientific studies and academic research exploring major environmental contaminants — nitrate, pesticides, PFAS, and radon — and their associations with cancer in Iowa.
